This week marks our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of growing fresh, healthy, local foods. FARM TO TABLE is now a huge part of our daily work here at Greenbrier Nurseries. We have produced millions of microgreens, grew over 4000 heirloom tomato plants this summer and have grown over 5000 flats of lettuce. We are very proud of our commitment to being the only producer in southern West Virginia of any scale that is not using herbicides, pesticides, non GMO seeds and using clean, professional handling and storage practices. Our over 300 CSA allotments each week have been a challenge with the very cold start and very wet summer but we have continued stay true to our desire to provide the area with wonderful local foods. We will be expanding our production for next season and we have just finished new plantings of kale, cucumbers, spinach, lettuce, chard, broccoli and even tomatoes that will give us food until through the fall and early winter months. We will be able to accept a larger enrollment for our CSA for 2015 as well as offer an extension for this fall for our current patrons. We want to thank our loyal customers for their support of FARM TO TABLE. We are just getting started with our project to change the way we eat here in southern West Virginia by providing locally grown, organically minded produce. Best regards, Jim Monroe ...
